Having been away from the blog for a while, I’ve got a collection of Internet items to share. Some of them may be a little old, though.

The Year of the Flood

The Year of the Flood

First of all: Margaret Atwood is blogging. She’s going on tour to promote the Year of the Flood, her latest novel, and blogging about the experience. I understand she’s also Tweeting! Awesome. All CanLit should now rejoice.

Lorrie Moore, short-story writer extraordinaire, has a new novel coming out, and Jezebel sums up her interview with Elle, here. Basically she says writers have to be willing to have less friends than everyone else.

A number of lists:

One of books about doomed love.

The best five (American) books of the last nine years.

The books that a New York Mag critic is most excited about for the upcoming season. (The Original of Laura has me excited, too, even though it’s not a finished work. I’m glad, at least for now, that Dmitri didn’t burn it.)

And, finally: a list of beers named after authors or books. Ichabod Pumpkin Ale sounds good to me.
