Job hazards

Another writer describes the problems inherent with the writerly lifestyle, here. This one seems to be in response to Colm Toibin’s gloomy interview on the same subject; A.L. Kennedy manages to condense Toibin’s thoughts to the funny “writing books isn’t a constant giddy whirl of sherbet and dancing.” That’s not a huge letdown to me. I like sherbet quite a bit, but prefer gelato anyhow; and I’ve always had two left feet when it comes to dancing.
